Vision

The I.T. Strategic Vision

There are two critical elements in managing any organization:

	The first is Vision, i.e., what will the future be and how can we shape the future to what we want.
	The second is a Plan designed to bring about the Vision and make it reality.

These two elements are critical to the survival or viability of any organization. Vision will be defined here and planning will be discussed under Strategic Planning.

Strategic Vision is defined as follows:

It is a powerful mental image of what we want to create in the future.

It provides a higher purpose

It directs the organization to the future

It defines the spirit of the organization

It guides decisions

It provides purpose

It is challenging and compelling

Example:

The organization and our people, who are our most valuable resource, will use advanced technology, which is the enabling resource, to revolutionize our delivery of services and insure that our services are customized, inexpensive, user friendly and personal.
